About the WI

Cromford WI is part of the Via Gellia Group that includes several other local village  Institutes, and is part of the County Federation of all the WIs in Derbyshire.

Our monthly meetings usually involve a speaker and then  time to socialise with fellow members. We have regular walks, craft sessions and outings.  

The WI is now the largest voluntary women's organisation in the UK, and will celebrate its centenary this year.  It has around 212 000 members in over 6 500 branches.

It provides women with educational opportunities, the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

The training centre in Oxfordshire, Denman, is a Georgian mansion in seventeen acres of grounds that provides the  perfect atmosphere for learning and offers a wide variety of day and residential courses in cookery, craft and lifestyle.

Subscription 2015 depends on the joining date:

1 January - 31 March           £36.00

1 April - 30 June                   £27.00

1 July - 30 September         £18.00

1 October - 31 December   £  9.00

Non-members are very welcome to join us for up to 3 meetings at a cost of £4.50 per meeting.
